An information resource for discovering wineries in the Northern California region and for creating a driving map to optimize a wine tasting route.
Summary
Problem Space
This project grew out of a personal experience when I visited Napa Valley. While trying to explore the area I had to download four different application to sift through wineries that fit my budget, location, and amenities preferences. There was no one place that meaning-fully combined mapping, filtering and listing functionalities to help me plan my trip.
My Role
•  Set the overall goals for research and design explorations
•  Facilitated feedback sessions with test users
•  Led the experiencing mapping process–user flows, IA
•  Built functioning prototype
•  Created the visual and interaction system
Tools Used

Design Goals
•  Make an interaction system to access a list of wineries in a location and apply multiple filters
•  Organize information with the right level of abstraction eg. Filters like cost, listing meaningful features
•  All steps of selecting wineries & adding selections towards planning a route in a single place
•  Provide facility to quickly modify the trip selections within the map
User Flow
Design & Refinement
I set out to start the design process with a laying out the the basic interaction system to access a list of wineries in a location and apply multiple filters and working up. This allowed me to stay focused on information which provided the right level of abstraction to build core components of the experience.
Incorporating feedback from peers on the display of filters.
Final Design
Prototyping the dashboard using Google API's
